Born on December 30, 1995, in Seo-gu, Daegu, South Korea. Eldest of two sons and one daughter.

Spent childhood in Daegu, transferred to Geochang during 6th grade, where he completed elementary and middle school.

Moved back to Daegu for high school but moved to Seoul after being selected as a trainee by BigHit Music.
