Huening kai

Huening Kai was born in Hawaii, USA, but only lived there for about two months before moving to Beijing, China, where he spent his childhood.

In 2009, he moved to Korea and has lived there ever since, becoming fluent in Korean and acquiring basic Chinese skills.

He has a good command of English as well and attended elementary, middle, and high school in Korea, which helped him develop a deep understanding of Korean culture.

While attending Yongmun Middle School, he was the deputy head of the student council’s safety department and vice president in his third year. He was also a strong student, ranking 14th out of 80 students.

Huening Kai and his friends convinced their English teacher to open a band club, naming it "Yongmun Middle Band," where he was the frontman and drummer.

He participated in school singing competitions, placing second with songs like Jason Mraz’s "I’m Yours" and Bruno Mars’ "Just the Way You Are."

Before joining Big Hit Music in 2016, he auditioned for several companies with his sister but was repeatedly rejected. However, after being remembered by a staff member who moved to Big Hit, he was cast and started training in June.

Huening Kai is always considered a candidate for the main vocalist of Tomorrow by Together due to his wide vocal range and song delivery.

He is responsible for many of the high notes and choruses in the group’s songs, delivering a refreshing tone that matches the group’s concept.

His voice has a rich midrange, and he uses nasal sounds effectively to make his performance enjoyable for listeners.

Along with his vocal skills, he has also demonstrated his ability to rap, most notably when covering "Come Back Home" by Seo Taiji and Boys.

As the youngest member of Tomorrow by Together, Huening Kai is adored by his older members and is known for his charm.

Despite being the youngest, he had never cried in front of a camera since debut until Dream Week on the 5th anniversary, when he received a letter from his mother.

He is known for his kind, altruistic nature, always considering others’ feelings and earning the admiration of his group members and fans.

Huening Kai is clumsy with detailed tasks like drawing or cooking and often loses items like earphones.

Though cute and lively in front of the camera, he is calmer and quieter off-camera, showing a more introverted side along with Soobin and Beomgyu.

Huening Kai’s MBTI results have varied, but he is currently listed as an ISTJ.

He is the first American-born artist under Big Hit Music.

His favorite artists include Bruno Mars and the Jonas Brothers, and he enjoys listening to pop music.

Huening Kai has a strong geeky side and loves animation, bringing fellow member Soobin into the world of anime.

He has an extensive collection of dolls, showing a strong attachment to soft, cute ones from a young age.
